The gift of sight.
Our focus is on making a meaningful difference in people’s lives by delivering exceptional services with the highest level of compassion and support.
A selfless act of generosity
The miracle begins here.
The miracle of corneal transplantation begins with the charitable act of donation. Many individuals choose to become an eye donor on their driver license or by signing up on donatelife.net. The passing of a loved one is an emotionally difficult time, making your decision regarding eye donation even more important. Many families find a sense of comfort in knowing that they are following through on their loved one’s wishes to help others by providing the gift of sight. It is the selflessness of the donors and the gracious generosity of their families who, during a difficult time, make corneal transplants and research possible.
The Donation Process
Notification & Family Outreach
When an individual passes away, Miracles In Sight is notified by the hospital, and a donor coordinator reaches out to the family to discuss donation options.
Tissue Recovery
Professional surgical recovery specialists and eye bank technicians recover and evaluate the donated tissue. Then, it is determined if the tissue is suitable for transplantation or research.
Surgeon Request
Surgeons request corneal tissue for transplant by contacting Miracles In Sight, which is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Collaborating with the surgeon on the intended procedure, our team delivers the tissue for surgery.
