Miracles in Sight helps restore, preserve, and enhance eye sight

Nonprofit eye bank Miracles in Sight plays a critical role in restoring the eyesight of thousands of people every year in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Texas. We provide ophthalmologists with high-quality, safe, donated tissue for corneal transplants, and work to make life-changing corneal transplants available to more people.

Miracles In Sight’s mission is to support the restoration, preservation, and enhancement of sight through transplant, research, education and innovation. We collaborate with surgeons, universities and researchers who are improving the state of the art and increasing the success of corneal transplants.

Sight restoration depends on you and other eye donors

Miracles in Sight relies on individuals who choose to register as eye donors and make their wishes clear to their families. Those future donors not only contribute to restoring the sight of another person, but help advance research into sight disorders, including glaucoma and complications from diabetes. Their generosity and yours can make a significant difference in the lives of others now and for future generations.

Almost anyone can be a future eye donor

Cataracts, glasses, most cancers, previous eye surgeries and diseases, and age don’t prohibit people from becoming future eye donors. There is no cost to donors and their families, and eye donation doesn’t interfere with funeral arrangements or viewings.

Most corneas that are donated to Miracles for Life are used for transplants. And even those that are unsuitable for transplant are still used for research and education. Every donation makes a difference.

If you haven’t registered with your Department of Motor Vehicles to be a donor, you can do it online. It’s simple and only takes a few minutes.
